Around here lately

Wet. Wet. That's all I can say. It hasn't stopped raining for what seems like months (which of course, is not true). But really???!!!
We have experienced very rare moments of golden sunshine: fleeting yet invigorating! We have had the cows escape into the house yard, the chickens are producing eggs at a crazy rate which has lead to many cakes being baked, the peacocks are becoming more 'housebound'  and gumboots have become the new accessory.
I do confess to being something of a homebody:~ however, if this rain doesn't stop soon people with start talking! Time to emerge and socialise. I may just go to the movies tomorrow. Oh bold me.

Here's to a super ( sunny) weekend to all! xx

News!

Over the past few months, we have had some wonderful news...some I will share now and some a little later! But it is all so very exciting: I am beside myself:)

Something you may not know is our daughter Paris is now School Captain! As I have mentioned before, she has had a 'difficult' transition since leaving Steiner schooling just over 2 years ago, but has come through with a beautiful group of friends and the confidence to run an Election Campaign. It was not without it's 'complications':~ which I won't go into here. Let's just say : 'politics'. Yet once the votes were counted and the 'powers that may' had there discussions, she was absolutely astounded to win! In her words: 'I feel so blessed and honoured'. As for us? Well, we couldn't be more proud and inspired by her journey and the outcome. Brilliant! Good on you Paris:~ always be your LOvely self.

'Left of centre' is so much more interesting!

3/52

Goodness me! It's photo time AGAIN??!!! We are at the end of the Summer holidays and boy, they have flown. It has been the BEST 6 weeks with the kids. Now, to end the fun, we are cooped up enduring torrential (yet much needed) rain. Tuesday sees them back at school...and me back into work and new adventures for the year...YAY!
And yet: I sure will miss them so...

It's 2013 and it's 'back to business' time! Let's not mention the amazing length of absence since my last post:~ let's just say I have ALOT of catching up to do both on my little blog and looking at all the inspiring, gorgeous blogs, I do so LOve.
To launch into the new year, I am so excited to be taking part in the 52:~ A Portrait a Week Project by the ever-amazing Jodi over at Che and Fidel. (Click on the link and take a look). It is so inspiring! And guess what? Anyone can take part! And that's what makes this all so wonderful... and so perfectly sums up how the blogging world connects EVERYONE in some small (or big) way... Hip Hip hooray!

A Country Fair!

I am SO not going to repeat myself...yes, I have been absent. Life has been great, and I'm back! Just needed a wee break from blogging, but feeling refreshed and ready to spend (too) much time back in the chair:) And can't wait to be inspired by all the amazing people I follow!
There is too much to tell, yet not anything mind-blowing or life changing. Life has been just fun and normal! And here is one of the fun-est things of late...Paris's Birthday Party! We really tossed up whether or not to have a party this year given that she turned 12. But of course, I finally caved and thought we would give it one last all-or-nothing go! And it was a great way for Paris to finally feel settled and comfortable since changing schools last year.
This year's theme was 'A Country Fair'. Think baked potatoes, popcorn, pie throwing, barn dancing...and soooo much more!  It was sublime! Thanks too all the wonderful guests:~ Beautiful children= a beautiful day.
Here's some pics to give a taster...with many, many more stored away! I hope you enjoy and it's lovely to be back xx

A few of my favourite things...

I have recently stumbled across this great site to help 'organise' my photos...yes, I am not particularly clued up on these things, so this may be old news to many! However, I am LOving the simplicity of  Pic Monkey. I can see this as being a great way to display pics on my website as it takes very little time and techno ability:)
Here's a collage of a few of my fav things on this crisp, sunshine~y Sunday!
